Principal engineer at a health and wellbeing technology company.

I build software for health technology at scale. I work at the intersection of mathematics, behavioural modelling and machine learning. I occasionally write my thoughts down.

Particle noise field

This is a live particle noise field rendered onto a canvas. I built it to explore the maths of fluid dynamics. It has no other purpose. It’s maths for maths sake, which is lovely.

About

I’m the Principal Engineer at a UK-based health and wellbeing technology company.

I’ve been building software for twelve years. Ten of them have been in health and wellbeing, and the last six here. Over the years my work has evolved through infrastructure and platform engineering into machine learning and understanding human behaviour through mathematics.

I lead a team of engineers building technology to meaningfully improve lives.

I think we can genuinely make lives better through technology, and that mathematics is how we understand the world. I believe in elegant solutions and I think engineering is a craft to be proud of even in the age of AI.

When I’m away from a keyboard I’m in the gym. I also volunteer with Leyland Playscheme, a children’s charity that I’ve been involved with for 18 years.
